This will be my last post for this year. Wow...what a year it was!! I discovered a whole new world... blogging! It's so great to get inspired by all those creative people that are out there on the net. And through blogging I've met some wonderful new friends. I even got a little bit addicted on blogging and spend way to much time behind the computer!!
Yesterday I cleaned up my craftsroom, thinking not to start the new year in a mess. While doing that I came across these Dutch fabrics. I bought them recently in Marken. A Dutch town, very touristic and well-known for its characteristic wooden houses.

These fabrics would be lovely for making birds. I made one from polka dot fabric. She's a cheerful bird that love to have some family. So I'm going to make her one!

    Happy New Year to you Corry. I'm glad you discovered blogging. I have been thinking about cleaning too, unfortunately, it's been more thinking than actually cleaning. That is a pretty set of fabrics, and you are right, they will make wonderful birds.

    Dear Corry,
    I did not know oliebollen was still traditional in Holland for New Years---what fun to find out that it still is! My grandparents all emigrated at the turn of the century, or before (in the 1800's) but our family always has oliebollen on New Years day. We eat and eat until we can't eat any more! :-) It is dark now, and we are going out to light the fireworks we saved from the 4th of July.

    Lovely fabrics and mmmnn oliebollen, yummy!!! My father in law makes it every Christmas to share with the family. Just too yummy (and I always eat way too much of it!). Happy New Year to you as well -- may it be filled with joy, love and laughter.
