recycled calico bag

Mom made this recycled calico bag. It's such a lovely and bright tote bag. The colors red, white and blue gave it that typical Dutch twist.
This morning she handed it over to me and before I even could think..wow...what a sweet gift, she said; "it's not for you, it's for in your shop"!!

Mom thanks!... maybe we have to order new labels with the text; "Dutch sisters and their mom"!

p.s: extra detail, this bag has a nice inside pocket!

    What a gorgeous bag! I wish I had seen your labels before I ordered mine. I would have added that little text box around my name for added texture. Oh, well.

    I really love the bag! Your mom did a great job! It is so great that you have your mom to sew with you. I really miss my mom who died nearly 3 years ago of cancer. So enjoy yours while you have her.

    Ik was nooit zo gek op Hollandse folkore. Maar sinds ik jullie sites heb ontdekt wordt ik steeds meer verliefd op het blauw en wit met rood motief. Ik krijg helemaal zin om allerlei bijpassende bandjes en stofjes te gaan kopen en te kijken of ik er ook iets leuks van kan maken. In jullie league zal ik nooit komen, maar een inspiratie zijn jullie zeker. En nu ook nog jullie moeder. Getalenteerde dames zijn jullie.

    What a cute bag. So nice to have something in common with your mother like that. I have been trying to get my mother back into sewing. Maybe when she retires next year!

    I was not a big fan of the typical Dutch fabrics, but since I know your blog you’ve convinced me of their beauty. Lately I even made some items using the fabrics myself...!

    It has been awhile since I checked your blog. Your new grandbaby should be getting close to arrival. My new granddaughter is 9 days old now. She is such a sweet baby, I can't stay away from her. You will enjoy your new grandbaby.

    What fun it is to get a sweet gift from your mother. We never grow out of that! I love recycling these bags and she did a fabulous job with this one! Even made the inside look so cute.
