baby news

beschuit met muisjes

On august 2, early in the morning our daughter M gave birth to a daughter.
She's our first grandchild..Luca is her name and she's the most adorable, sweet, pretty little baby you can imagine...so precious.
Mother and child are healthy and doing great.
I would love to show you a photo of her but I've to ask the parents for promision first!
So instead I have for you "beschuit met muisjes". It's traditional food served to celebrate the birth of a baby in the Netherlands, read all about this typical Dutch custom here.
I'm off, this proud oma has to go visit her granddaughter...(again!)

    Hartelijk gefeliciteerd. Mijn moeder is 3 jaar geleden oma geworden (toen onze Pelle werd geboren) en ze geniet zo ontzettend van hem. Het heeft haar leven echt gelukkiger gemaakt.
    Wat zal Luca verwend worden met mooie zelfgemaakte dingen!

    van harte gefeliciteerd!!! geniet er van ze zijn zo weer groot , het gaat soms te snel heb zelf een kleindochter van 6 mnd heerlijk en elke dag is er wat nieuws .

    Gefeliciteerd met je kleindochter! Je weet het he, als oma moet je zoveel mogelijk alleen maar genieten!
    Ik heb een kleinzoon van bijna drie, en in december wordt onze kleindochter geboren als alles goed gaat. Kan niet wachten!

    Je maakt overigens mooie dingen, dus ik kom vaker langs.

    Hello! Came across your blog when I was trying to write a congratulations note on 'geboren'. Belated Congratulations on the birth of your kleinkindje and being an oma. I just started my Dutch lessons here. The photo of beschuit met muisjes give me a clearer picture of the cake that people use for birth of babies :)
