quilting in circles and an early Christmas card

I start quilting in the white open spaces, making circles to fill them up.
I use light blue thread for contrast. More work than I thougt it would be...turning, turning and turning the hoop around!

And here is a Christmas card I'm SO excited about!
It looks better in real life than on a photo though,(bad light).

Christmas cards

A few months back I was asked by Susan O'Hanlon, how is a card publisher in England, if she could use my photograph "holiday season ornament" for publishing it on one of her Christmas cards. These cards are sold in stores in the UK and also in major stores in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, France and Switzerland. Sadly not in Holland.
Also these Christmas cards are published in support of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and 20% will go to this Charity.

I wonder how they look in a store next to all other Christmas cards?
So, if you spot one please let me know!

    What a beautiful card. I love it. I live in the Hague and have a British friend who has a diabetic son and she often does fundraising. I will ask her if she is selling any cards for christmas.....you never know they may be in Holland soon!

    Congratulations on your photo being used for the Christmas cards. I do hope someone will find them in a shop and send you a photo so you can see how they look.

    I love your quiltwork. I did a Bull's Eye quilt like this and too felt like it was taking forever but all of a sudden...you are done. The circles are great fun!

    I love your handquilting - I'm a huge fan of quilting in circles like that but like you, wish that we didn't have to keep turning the quilt - couldn't we just turn our arms! ;-) Those cards are FANTASTIC! I can't wait to check all around here in Brisbane Australia when the Christmas stuff comes out and I shall buy some with pleasure.

    Corry wat een geweldig compliment dat jouw prachtige foto gebruikt gaat worden voor kerstkaarten, volledig terecht! Als ik ze tegen zou komen zou ik ze dolgraag kopen, prachtig ook die geschulpte rand aan de enveloppe.
    Je echte foto op Flickr laat de werkelijke kleuren heel goed zien, prachtig!
    Je quilt vind ik heel erg mooi worden met die stiksels in het wit!

    Your hand quilting is beautiful! So even and pretty. I just finished hand quilting a 40" x 40" quilt with a TON of circles - about six circles per block and interlocking circles for the border. I thought I was going to go nuts turning my hoop that much!!!

    Oh MY!! Your quiling is wonderful. I know what you mean about going around in circles though.. I just did a little bi of that on my last quilt, and it wasn't easy. Yours is coming along so pretty!

    Wow Corry, what an honor. I can see why she asked you, the picture is fantastic! I don't think they will be sold in Iceland, but if they will, I'll buy one and let you know. Great idea quilting in circles, don't get too dizzy!

    Do you know where I can buy some of those cards? My Daughter has Juv. Diabetes and we support JDRF in the great work they do trying to find a cure. I would love to order some.
