Welcome 2010


Hello everyone, how are you all! Did you survive the holiday season?
Well we did alright, although I only have to will eat low calorie food
for the next few weeks or so!

A new year calls for a new calender.

 

This new one is hanging in my craftsroom. It's actually a birthday calender.
It contains beautiful cross-stitch sampler patterns
and a farmers saying for each month.
The calender is published by Tesseschade-Arbeid Adelt



Don't ask me to translate January's saying in English.
I'm sorry I don't think I can.
However if one of you can, please sent me the translation
and I'll be happy to add it to this post.



Besides all the eating I did this past two weeks
I also managed to squeeze some crafty time in.
A new doll. She asked me for some polkadot shoes....

    Ja,ja net wat we allemaal nodig hebben in die vaak zo grijze januari maand: goed gekozen die stippen laarsjes, je pop heeft smaak! Goed dat je daar aan toegeeft!

    Somehow I managed to eat pretty well... perhaps it was because I refused to buy a bunch of desserts when I can make them myself, and then I got lazy and didn't make much! :D

    I loooooove the doll Corrie!! Great job.
    Our neighbor is from Holland.. can't remember what part, not Amsterdam or Rotterdam.. sometimes I will do the langauge translations and send him a very messed up message in dutch! It's fun to do.

    The calendar is great. I'm really interested in samplers from other countries, I went on the website and couldn't find it (though I did figure out where you look for their publications! Not bad for an English only person I thought!) Are they still available do you think?

    Mooie blog heb je! Moest wel lachen om die spreuk/gezegde... daar kan ik me prima in vinden. Ik kom zeker vaker langs om leuke ideetjes op te doen. Goed nieuwjaar, ook voor jou!

    Wat een gezellige pop heb je gemaakt Corry! En wat een vrolijke schoentjes! Zij gaat dansend de wereld in. Mooie kalender heb je. Alles klopt eraan. Heb je stiekem al gekeken naar de volgende maand ;-)

    Those dolls are so cute! Do you embroider the faces after they are constructed? I've never tried that, usually I do the embroidery first. What pattern did you use?

    The calendar is beautiful too.
