lack of motivation

It's true, quilters are inventive people! I've recieved some really creative and usable suggestions on what to do with my bleached out quilt. Thank you all! I've thought each advise over and over and I've decided to follow the suggestion that several of you gave to finish this quilt off and accept it as it is. And for the future...no more ink pens for me!
Lately I'm not so busy with sewing and crafts as I want to. Partly because I've other things to do and partly because of my lack of motivation. I managed however to do a little more sewing on the handkerchief blocks ( I want to make a tablecloth out of these blocks). The blocks are on the floor of my craftsroom...for some time now.

handkerchief fun

Luckely I've my own crafts room and I can close the door. That way nobody is bothered of all the mess I make! I'll give you a little glimpse around...
For things to pin on, for inspiration and to remember adresses I use these pinboards.

pinboard

I've a small sewingtable in front of the window, perfect for natural light. The table looks bigger though when it's not so messy!
For blogging etc. I have a computerdesk made by my husband.

for music books

I like to listen to music while working. It's an old radio but with stereo sound! The books on the shelf are mostly quiltbooks. They are used for inspiration.

fabric

Here are some of my fabrics. I keep them in a closed dresser so that the colors won't fade out. I try to stash them color by color and usually there are more fabrics going in then there are going out (lol).
I'm very happy with my room, it's a place I spend a lot of time in. Hopefully I get my mind on sewing again soon. In the meanwhile I better tidy up my sewingtable!

Your sewing room is gorgeous Corry - I love your fabrics folded up in your cupboard! Mine are all stuffed in boxes so I don't get to see them unless I am using them which is a shame!

Wonderful place to work in! Maybe you‘re still thinking too much of the quilt with the bleached lines and you might feel happier fixing that quilt after all! - Just kidding!
It’s funny, when I have time to sew I can suffer from a total lack of motivation, when I’ve no time however, I get lots of things done.

I know what you mean. There are just so many hours in a day eh?I sometimes don't feel like doing some kind of craft either. That is why I stopped taking commissions because I just sometimes want to knit or crochet instead of sewing! No worries it always comes back!Love your working space!!!xoxo

Everybody needs some rest from time to time. Then the inspiration comes stronger then ever.
You have a lovely sewing room, thanks for sharing those pictures. My godfather had a radio like yours, it is gorgeous.

Your sewing room looks very nice to me. I love your pin boards. I have one, & it has all sorts of things on it.
My machine is in front of a window too, so plenty of light during the day.

I really like your sewing room.
Your fabric stash is nicely tucked away on that shelf. Those bandanna
block are fantastic. I would be so scared to make something with those
colors. Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

It's so fun to see inside other crafter's work areas - especially the fabric stash. And I confess, I'm a little envious that you have a craft room. I used to before I moved, but my new house is too small for that. I miss my craft room. =(
I'm loving the handkerchief blocks. I've never seen that done before.

Oh. what an inspiring craft room. At the moment mine is still in boxes all over the floor but looking at yours makes me want to go and get stuck into mine even though the rain is pelting down at the moment and making me very sleepy. Thankyou - thankyou.

When I loose a bit of my motivation, I just go do something else. It always returns in the end.

Thanks for the fun peeks into your sewing room. I have a quilt studio which has been a disaster area since the autumn. I was too creative for the holidays and it looks like a bomb dropped. I am working on it and put a photo on one of my blogs about the chair I just recovered in chintz. I need motivation in there to get this room back to my special creative space. I too really love having my own room and spend most of the day in there normally.

Nice blog!

I would like to suggest a great website about decor and home design.
There are Patchwork Cowhide Rugs for a few bucks.

Txs!

I really like what you've done with those bandannas. So often I see them wrapped around someone's head, pirate-style, and I've never really considered using them for patchwork. That's clever.

I think your crib quilt is beautiful it's so fresh looking and the hankerchief top you're putting together is awesome. They remind me ofmy mom. I wish my work room was as neat as yours.

Hello from France!

Dear Corry, I'm definitely in love with your stuff. They are so cute. I will be in Holland from 21/4 - 24/4. Hope that it will be a very amazing dutch experience. Do you know where in Amsterdam I can get some cute fabric patterns as souvenir. And I also love to try some patchwork on my own :">

Thank you for making your time
Nice weekend
