busy fingers

Things are back to normal over here. I've tried to stay in vacation mode for as long as possible but after a busy schedule at work.... I wish I had vacation again (lol)! Though I did manage to work some more on the quilt for the summer swap It's a quilt with cut out fabric flowers and stitchery stems and leaves. I'm almost done with the top, just have to add the borders.

These two I did in France. I always have something to do, a nice small work, with me on holiday.

Noah's ark

Like this Ohiostar pincushion, I made it last spring vacation.

I just love to keep my fingers busy. Notice the tiny quilt in the back, it's a perfect match with the new polkadot teaset, my last purchase.

How about you, do you take your projects with you while on holiday? I'm curious, do you feel the need to keep your fingers busy all the time?
Well, I think I do.....off now....there are borders to sew on. Have a wonderful day!

Hi Corry, I wanted to say I just love your quilt for the Summertime Swap. And me too need to bring or buy a crochet or stitchery project during my vacation. On vacation I love to do stitcheries, I have the time and patience and you don't need much for it. Last year when we went to Texel for a week, I even took my sewing machine!

I love the summer quilt, I wish I was your person! And that tea set is so cute, I just love dots.
Yes I must have something with me at all times. I carry my knitting with me everywhere I go. I haven't gone on my vacation yet we are leaving in October for Hawaii!

You´ve made so lovely things on holiday! I use to have also all the time some handcraft material with me, wherever I travel. That is why I have an estate car to drive here in our country.

So lovely things. Love your pincushion! Yes I take always some little things with me. Even today when I went with our youngest boy to IKEA and what did I do? Left my backbag in the bus and now it is missing .. with all my ninepatches ready to handsew!!!!

Dag Corrie! I like to take my English paper piecing Hexagons with me. Basting is a great relief for my permanent 'itch to stitch'! This summer I took my Ripple blanket and crocheted in the plane making the 10 hours pass so easily!
I love your blog and always enjoy your 'rood-wit-blauw' fabrics!

Warm greetings from Cyprus

i always love your selections of fabric.

when i am on vacation, i try to bring knitting. for some reason i have the idea that this is easier to transport, and not too many items to carry around.

Heerlijke werkstukjes hier weer.

nice finishes!
I love to carry a packet of redwork with me. Whenever I have a free minute, out it comes and a few more stitches done!
Thanks for the blog

YOur applique flowers looks beautiful. I feel lost when I don't have something in my hands to stitch or sew. I find it relaxing. On holiday it is guilt free stitching as there isn't all the housework to do.
Your ohio stars are gorgeous.

oooh those flowers are lovely - and I do adore your red, blue and white - and that new tea set is so sweet. I always want to rush to the sewing machine with some red, blue and white after I've visited Dutch Blue.

Hi Corry - so many inspiring things on thi spost! Your summertime quilt looks lovely - the aqua and orange look fabulous together. The little pincushion is sweet and you new tea set is so cheerful.

Hi Corrie - love your stuff as always! I took a pile of precut Japanese squares on holiday to France with no idea what to do with them but ended up stitching circles onto the squares and have made up a fabulous bag with them now I'm back home. I always try and take hand sewing - particularly if travelling with my daughter - it fills in all those hours of waiting for her to get up and do her hair/face/etc!

Yes, always! I get a little restless without a needle of some sort in my hands. I think it's one part liking the act of working on something and one part "oh-my-gosh-I-have-too-many-projects-going-on-and-too-many-more-to-start-so-i-better-get-busy."

Love your pincushions and the quilt!
