flowers to knit and crochet

Mom had noticed how much I enjoyed making the granny blanket.
Therefore she brought me a present she thought I certainly would like.
The book '100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet' by Lesley Stanfield.
It's a lovely book filled with challenging knit and crochet flowers.

100 flowers to knit and to crochet

Beautiful flowers in red and pink

white and yellow

knitted flower

Flowers to use for decoration

I got my cotton ready to get started.
But first I've to figure out how to read a crochet pattern!

100% cotton

Thanks mom, you're right..i love this book!

Oh lucky you! What an amazing book. I'm also a beginner in crochet but I'm sure you will be able to make some of them. Love your cottons. I'd just love to look through the book whether or not I made anything from it.

Corry this looks like a great book to have AND your granny blanket turned out beautifully! So much work, but the feeling of having accomplished something so monumental is the greatest feeling in the world. :)

hey corry,

it looks like such a beautiful book. one of the things i find most rewarding about crafting is the process of sitting down and working out how to do things and then being rewarded with success! enjoy making your flowers - you are so clever, i'm sure you will master it in no time ;-)

What a lovely mom you have to give this book to you. I have bought it for myself, and admit that it did inspire me to try some crocheting variations on the book's patterns. I know that eventually I will actually crochet or knit some of her designs.

Let us see what you do create. xo

Succes

It's such a great book. I have it on my wishlist for a while now, and I think I'll just go ahead and buy it.
Enjoy your crochet!

Hi Corrie, I have the same book (the Uk version is always available in Amazon at discounted price :-) and it's beautiful, the best I found so far..
(and I have bought a few ;-P)
I have tried both emboidery cotton for small flowers, and soft, DK cotton for larger flowers, which I have then attached to a cushion...children's t-shirts...cotton shopping bags...have a look: http://picasaweb.google.com/claudia.cherin/Handmade#

IT'S ADDICTIVE!!!
