a new "what's in the box"

calendar

Boy, it's hard to believe... November already, time past by fast....to fast!
Again time to show some pretty drawings from the calendar by Lot van den Akker.
And besides these drawings, so sweet don't you think,
I have no other subject for this post....

So lets do another "what's in the box".
a) Because I don't have anything else to show here and
b) because I have many, I mean many boxes stuffed with WIP's.
Lifting the lid once in a while reminds me there's still work waiting!
Big question to myself; why always start new projects???

box

But I must be honest with you The contents of this box is not mine.
It's not my WIP. It's mom's.
It ended up in my craftsroom because mom didn't felt like finish it anymore.
I said maybe I would but I'm not sure.

applique

When finished it should look something like this.
Sorry for the blurry picture, it was taken from another picture.

wall hanging

The different shapes and figures are glued to the background fabric
by using double Sided iron on stabilizer.
And then sew buttonhole stitches all around.
I love mom's color choices

It realy looks lovely and it would probably be a lovely work to do also,
but you know how things work with WIP's.
Usualy they sit for a long time in a dark box are a closet
waiting for someone who comes along and kindly helps them to a good ending.
Today it's just not this wip's time.

So the lid is back on, the box is closed.
Maybe this wip has more luck next time!

Lovely calendar pictures.. except for the spider.. eeek!

I know what you mean about projects in a box. I think we all have too many of those! Hopefully they don't end up in a sale or something. You have your work all cut out for you to finish that one.. maybe after the holidays. :-)

my confirmation word is "numple". So funny!

It certainly looks like a project worth finishing. Can't wait to see it

Hi! My name is erica. Would you be my friend? said...

I love the 'what's in the box' thing! Yes, that'll be very nice when finished!

I actually pulled out 2 WIP this past week and worked a tiny bit on each... I don't know what came over me!

I don't have a calendar this year. Actually, that reminds me of another WIP...a perpetual calendar that I'm cross stitching. That'll be nice when it's finished too...

I love the "what's in the box" posts! Its good to know I'm not the only one who tires of a project that seemed a good idea at the time. i wonder if it would be possible to make several smaller things from that quilt ? You seem to be very good at that Corry.
I have a half finished quilt that I have tired of but people seem to like, I'm thinking log cabin cushions as Christmas presents this year !
Your Mum's quilt is lovely but I would have said not in your own style but i bet you could make something really nice from it. Susan

Dear Corry, I have missed so much in these last few busy days, but I just knew I would be treated to a new page of your lovely calendar! Your WIP are beautiful just as WIP's! You are a fabric Wonder Woman! Have a lovely weekend. Elizabeth

oh wow so pretty and colourful. We don't need to talk about WIPs do we...I have a shameful few spots in my craft room and scattered around the house with knitting, sewing, stitching, crochet projects to finish...then there was the mosaic mirror, the scrapbooking!
Ok I totally outed myself.......you are so excused from putting it back in the tin

I was tidying my bedroom today and found myself with some empty hat boxes and two bags full of wool and unfinished projects. I remembered this post and now have a box of wool and a box of 'wip's! Thank you so much for the inspiration ♥
