this and that

Thank you so much for your kind birthday wishes.
It's almost a week later now and I've been so busy with work.
This is my first day off and I finaly had some time to catch up with blog reading and to post.
February the 6th was a happy cake eating and gifts unwrapping day.
This book was one of my presents

birthday present

It contains some wonderful stitchery projects.
Like this needle book, I love to make this sometime.,

needlebook

Heleen spoiled me with this most gorgeous bag.
Lucky me... to have a sister who can make such handsome bags!

mesenger bag

This morning the streets were snowy white and a bit slippery, again!
I can't wait til this winter is over. I just about had it with the cold!
To keep warm I even added an extra quilt on the bed with the tacking cotton still in it!
Wouldn't it be great to be able to quilt, stay warm and rest underneath it at the same time!
It certainly would solve some time problems.

logcabin on the bed

This dutch folklore only needs one side of the binding sewn on.
I can do that this evening.

But....
I'm off to the supermarket now, buy some ingredients to cook diner for my family.
Groeten,

p.s. Dear swap friends,I find it so lovely that some of you write emails back and forth and become swapfriends. How neat is that!!

Oh, please please show more photos of your house! I love them. Years ago when I quilted, my dogs would get underneath and sleep next to me in the chair while I quilted.

Corry what a wonderful birthday you had! Helen's gift is priceless.

You made me laugh with your P.S. because my swapfriend and I have been sending emails to one another and its nice to know its the same for others as well. This swap proves that no matter how far or close we are to one another--we are all the same and want the basic same things out of life. :)

I enjoy the cold and snow but really don't like the ice we have now. We could not go to our cottage this weekend as there is solid ice on the dirt road in the woods there. But soon spring will come...

I have a heavy quilt over a thermal blanket on our bed and it is pure heaven. Your new quilt looks great on your bed. And the new Dutch quilt is coming along nicely.

Your book looks wonderful. I agree it is wonderful to have a sister to make you that amazing bag! Enjoy using it.

Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi

Happy Valentine's Day Corry! What a beautiful bedroom you have with such wonderful book cupboards! A dream come true! Thank you for all of the beautiful flower photos. Our cold snow weather has made it impossible for the florists to get Valentine's Day flowers to our stores. The ones that make it are a little sad looking! Also thank you for sharing your February calendar. I just love it! Elizabeth

Corry, Happy Belated Birthday! I am sorry I missed the exact day. It sounds like you had a nice one. Your bookshelves are from Ikea? We are thinking of doing them in our living room. I absolutely love the glass doors, we must have those! I had fun playing on the design page designing my room with bookcases I could move about. Have a good week!
